Image Converter NOW

Privacy policy

Effective 2 August 2026Version 2.0

This is an English translation provided for convenience. The Korean version is the legally binding text; if the two differ, the Korean version prevails.

In one line

Image files are never sent to a server, so collecting them is not even possible, and we collect nothing that identifies you personally. Only anonymous visit statistics are gathered, to improve the Service.

Article 1We do not collect your image files

Every image operation in Image Converter NOW — format conversion, compression, resizing, cropping, background removal, PDF conversion and animated GIF conversion — happens inside your web browser. The image and PDF files you choose are never sent to a server, and the operator cannot access your files.

Your originals and results exist only in your device's browser memory and disappear when you close the tab. Because no file is stored on a server, no separate destruction procedure is needed. The file deletion policy covers this in detail.

Article 2Metadata (EXIF) is removed automatically

EXIF metadata contained in your images — GPS location, camera information, capture date and so on — is removed automatically during conversion. This too happens inside your browser, and the removed information is never transmitted or stored anywhere.

Article 3What we collect and why

Information collected when you sign up (optional) — signing up is optional and every conversion feature works without an account. If you do sign up, we collect the following.

  • What we collect— your email address, your password (stored hashed in a form that cannot be reversed), and, for Kakao or Google sign-in, that account's email address and account identifier
  • Why — account management such as logging in, and providing member benefits (higher per-batch conversion limits)
  • Retention — kept until you close your account, and deleted without delay when you do. The payment records below are retained separately as required by law.

Information collected when you pay for a plan (optional) — collected only if you subscribe to a paid plan; it does not apply if you use the Service for free.

  • What we collect — the plan purchased, the amount, the date and time, the transaction identifier issued by the payment gateway, the recurring-billing key and the order number. For refunds: the refund amount, the number of days used and the reason (if you entered one)
  • What we never collect card numbers, expiry dates, CVC codes and card passwords are never collected or stored. That information passes from the payment window directly to the payment gateway and never travels through the Service.
  • Why — providing the paid service and applying its limits, processing recurring payments and refunds, and retaining transaction records as required by law
  • Retention — under the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, records of payment and supply of goods are kept for 5 years, records of contracts and subscription withdrawal (refunds) for 5 years, and records of consumer complaints or dispute handling for 3 years, after which they are destroyed.
  • When you close your account — because of those statutory retention duties, payment and refund records are kept even after you leave. They are, however, unlinked from your account information and stored separately, then destroyed once the statutory period expires. The recurring-billing key is deleted immediately when you cancel, get a refund or close your account, so no further charge can be made.

Anonymous usage statistics — we collect the following non-identifying statistics to improve the Service.

  • What we collect — page views, feature events (choosing files, starting and finishing a conversion, downloading), the output format chosen and the number of files, device and browser type, and approximate country
  • Tool used — Vercel Web Analytics (cookie-free and does not identify individuals)
  • Why — to understand which conversion features are used most and where people give up, so we can improve the Service
  • Retention — up to 12 months from collection, then deleted automatically

What we never collect — the contents of your image or PDF files, their file names, anything extracted from an image, GPS coordinates from photos, or raw IP addresses. None of these are ever collected or stored, under any circumstances.

Article 4Cookies and browser storage

We use no cookies for advertising or for tracking users. For convenience, however, the following is kept in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is never sent to a server.

  • icn-settings-v1 — the conversion settings you used most recently (output format, quality, size, file naming rules)
  • icn-theme — your light or dark mode choice
  • sb-...-auth-token — keeps you logged in (created only for logged-in members and removed when you log out)

Clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes all of the above. The Service continues to work normally afterwards — your settings simply return to their defaults.

Article 5Processors and overseas transfers

The Service runs on the infrastructure of the providers below, and usage statistics are processed on their overseas servers. Image files are never part of any transfer.

  • Recipient — Vercel Inc. (privacy@vercel.com)
  • What is transferred — the anonymous usage statistics in Article 3, and server logs generated when you connect
  • Country, timing and method — the United States, transmitted over the network at the time you use the Service
  • Purpose and retention — website hosting and usage statistics, up to 12 months
  • How to refuse— you can block statistics collection with your browser's tracking protection or an ad-blocking extension. Every conversion feature works normally if you do.

Member account information (email address and hashed password) is stored on the infrastructure of Supabase Inc. (privacy@supabase.com), our authentication provider. The storage region follows the service configuration at the time of sign-up, and the data is deleted without delay when you close your account.

Payment processing — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment authorization, recurring billing and refund processing are entrusted to Toss Payments Co., Ltd., our payment gateway. Card details pass from the payment window directly to the gateway and are processed within Korea; the Service does not retain them. If you only use the Service for free, no payment information arises and this does not apply to you.

Article 6Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete and suspend the processing of your personal information. Note that for conversions the Service holds no information that could identify an individual, so there is nothing to look up. Logged-in members can check and delete their account information themselves from the account page. For anything else, write to the address below and we will look into it and respond.

Article 7Security measures

  • • HTTPS encryption on every connection
  • • Image processing confined to the browser, removing the route by which files could leak in the first place
  • • Format verification of added files (magic byte checks) and processing size limits
  • • A design that does not collect or store personally identifying data
