Terms of service

Effective 2 August 2026Version 2.0

This is an English translation provided for convenience. The Korean version is the legally binding text; if the two differ, the Korean version prevails.

In one line

Free to use without an account, and the files you produce carry no watermark and are yours to use commercially. Just keep your own copy of the originals.

Article 1Purpose

These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using Image Converter NOW (the “Service”), together with the rights, obligations and responsibilities of users and of the operator.

Article 2What the Service provides

The Service provides the following features free of charge in a web browser.

  • • Image format conversion (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, JXL)
  • • Image compression, resizing, cropping, rotating and flipping
  • • Removal of image metadata (EXIF)
  • • AI background removal and animated GIF conversion
  • • Conversion between images and PDF

All processing happens inside your browser and files are never sent to a server.

Article 3Conditions of use and limits

Anyone may use the Service without an account, and creating a free account raises some of the limits. The following limits apply so the Service stays reliable.

  • • Guests: up to 5 files per batch, 20MB per file, 50MB per batch
  • • Free members: up to 10 files per batch, 20MB per file, 100MB per batch
  • • Personal plan: up to 20 files per batch, 50MB per file, 500MB per batch
  • • Pro plan: up to 100 files per batch, 200MB per file, 2GB per batch
  • • Business plan: up to 300 files per batch, 500MB per file, 5GB per batch
  • • Maximum 20,000 pixels on either side, 200 million pixels in total per image
  • • PDF conversion up to 50 pages; animated GIF conversion up to 300 frames

You must create your own account. You may not register using another person's information, and you may not transfer or lend your account to anyone else. You can close your account yourself at any time from the account page.

These limits may be adjusted as the Service evolves. Any change will be announced on this page and in the changelog.

Article 4Your obligations

You must not do any of the following while using the Service.

  • • Process images that infringe another person's copyright, likeness rights or other rights
  • • Process images that break the law or cause harm to others
  • • Place excessive load on the Service through automated means
  • • Interfere with the normal operation of the Service or exploit vulnerabilities in it

The rights to, and the responsibility for, the images you process are entirely yours. Because files are never sent to a server, the operator cannot know which images you process and has no means of inspecting or controlling them.

Article 5Intellectual property

All rights in the files you produce with the Service belong to you. The operator claims no rights over your results and adds no watermark. You are free to use the results for personal and commercial purposes alike. Rights in the design, wording and source code of the Service itself belong to the operator. Licences for the open source software the Service uses are listed on the open source licences page.

Article 6Paid plans and billing

The core conversion features are free. Paid plans are monthly recurring subscriptions that raise the per-batch file count and size limits. The price and contents of each plan are as shown on the pricing page.

  • Payment method — credit and debit cards, handled by a payment gateway. The operator does not store card numbers or other payment credentials.
  • Prices — all amounts are in Korean won (KRW) and include VAT.
  • Billing cycle — you are charged automatically every 30 days from your first payment, and your benefits renew on each billing date.
  • Cancellation — you can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops the next charge, and your benefits stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Price changes — any price change is announced at least 30 days in advance and applies to existing subscribers from their next billing cycle.

Article 7Withdrawal of subscription and refunds

Refunds for paid plans follow the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and the criteria below.

  • Full refund within 7 days — if fewer than 7 days have passed since payment and you have not run a single image conversion since paying, you receive a full refund on request. ‘Use’ here means whether you ran a conversion at least once while logged in — the number of files or their size does not matter. Using tools that free members can use identically, such as background removal or animated GIF and PDF conversion, does not count.
  • Refund after use — even if you have used the plan by the criterion above, we refund the remaining days on a pro-rata basis, deducting the days already used. (Example: requesting after 10 of 30 days refunds 20 days.)
  • Refund for service failure — if a fault attributable to the operator makes paid features unusable for 24 consecutive hours or more, we refund that period pro rata or extend your subscription accordingly.
  • How to request — log in and use Request a refund on your account page. The refund amount is calculated and shown automatically, and the request is processed automatically once submitted.
  • Method and timing — refunds go back to the payment method you used. Card reversals can take 3-5 business days to appear, depending on your card issuer. Your subscription ends and recurring billing is switched off at the same time as the refund.
  • When refunds may be limited — refunds may be restricted where your use was restricted for breaching Article 4, or where you abuse the process, for example by repeatedly subscribing and cancelling for the purpose of obtaining refunds.

Closing your account and getting a refund are separate things. Closing your account deletes it, which means you can no longer reach the refund screen — so if you want a refund, please request it before closing your account. (The payment and refund records themselves are retained separately for the period required by law.)

For the exceptional cases the automatic process does not cover — refunds for service failures, payment errors and the like — write to us via the contact page or by email (urlnow.kr@gmail.com). Tell us the email address you signed up with and the payment date and we will check and handle it.

Article 8Changes to and suspension of the Service

The operator may improve, add to or change the Service's features, and the scope and limits of what is provided free of charge may be adjusted. The Service may be suspended temporarily for unavoidable reasons such as system maintenance, equipment failure or events beyond our control; where this is foreseeable we announce it in advance.

Article 9Limits of liability

The Service is provided as-is, and the operator is not responsible for the following.

  • Loss of original files — conversion creates a copy, but please keep your own backup of the originals.
  • Fitness of the results — we do not warrant that a result is suitable for any particular purpose or system. Please check the output before relying on it for anything important.
  • Differences between browsers — processing speed and available features vary with your browser and device.
  • The nature of a free service— except in cases of intent or gross negligence on the operator's part, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the Service.

Article 10Privacy

Image files are never sent to a server, and the operator does not collect personally identifiable information from conversions. The privacy policy and the file deletion policy cover this in full.

Article 11Changes to these terms

The operator may amend these terms where necessary. Amended terms take effect from the day they are published on this page. Where a change is unfavourable to users, it is announced at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change is taken as acceptance of the amended terms.

Article 12Governing law and disputes

These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises in connection with the Service, the operator and the user will negotiate in good faith to resolve it. Where no agreement is reached, either party may bring an action before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
