Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The rotation is done with your browser's canvas, so the image never leaves your device.
Does rotating reduce the quality?
No. 90-degree rotations and flips only rearrange pixels — nothing is resampled. The image is re-encoded once when you save, in its original format.
My phone photo shows up sideways. Why?
Phones store the orientation in a hidden EXIF tag that some programs ignore. Load the photo here and it appears upright; save it and the correct orientation is baked into the pixels for every program.
